Her life still lights the way
#OyeLights is a legacy initiative created in memory of Dr.Augustina Nana Oye Odame.

It was born out of a simple but resolute belief: that some lives continue to shine long after they are gone.. Oye was one of those lives

Through this initiative, we honour her memory by investing in women whose education, leadership and commitment to Ghana reflect the values she lived by: excellence, purpose, service, clarity and impact
Why #OyeLights
The name Oye Lights carries a double meaning.

Lights is both a noun and a verb.

It speaks to who Oye was to so many, a light. And it speaks to what her legacy continues to do, to light the way for others.

Oye lived with purpose, grace, intellect and quiet strength. She brought clarity where there was uncertainty, wisdom where there was complexity, and warmth into the lives of those who knew her. #OyeLights is our way of ensuring that the light she carried continues to open doors for others.
The #OyeLights Scholarship
At the heart of Oye Lights is a scholarship programme that will support five women to pursue a Master’s degree at a university of their choice. The vision is to support women who will return to Ghana and contribute meaningfully in one of the following areas:

We are especially interested in women who want to help shape better systems, build stronger institutions, communicate complex ideas clearly, and contribute to Ghana’s future through knowledge, leadership, and service.
